au revoir, September!

Well, seeing as it's the last day of September I thought I'd wish it adieu and welcome October, my favorite month, to the blog! I wasn't planning on posting anything because I have been bad about taking outfit posts (who wants to when all you have for a backdrop is cement and ugly furniture?) and I never even got to photograph the estate sale finds from 2 (!) weeks ago, but I decided I needed to assure you that I am alive, although I have an ear infection/sinus issue going on, and I will try very hard to put up something worthwhile in the next few days!

Other than illness and feeling uninspired, I am really excited about fall activities, and I hope I have time to do them all! Apple and pumpkin picking and Halloween are really high up on that list, so if I at least get to do those three things I think I could be content ;)

back in action

i'm back!
our trip was both good and bad, so i'll give you all a rundown of what occurred

the good:
1)sleeping on the long ride up (6 hours)
2)going to all the cool historic sites
3)looking at the architecture around town
4)swimming!
5)having beautiful weather
6)looking through all the little antique stores and thrift shops and buying not too many pretty little things

the bad:
1)doing nothing during the 6 hour car ride
2)having faulty bathrooms in the hotel at midnight
3)fire alarms in the hotel
4)having our hotel room ROBBED of my mom's camera, totally an awful and unsettling thing to know that someone has all of our vacation photos...ugh
5)bike week...so damn loud and obnoxious!
6)my mom also got stung by a bee, she was cursed or something! seriously WTF

aside from the obvious awful stuff that happened, i managed to have a nice time (because i was determined too, lol, we haven't been on a family vacation in years)
and i also managed to find a few cool things for the blog/stuff that has been on my wishlist for months that i'll show you later (my camera batteries are dead, lol, charging them right now)

i did get to finally test out my negative scanner today, and it's awesome! i'm super psyched to be able to convert my own negatives just like i did in high school, and i quickly did a little test run with the negatives from the 4th of July fireworks and the carnival (sorry the pictures are messed up, this was a test drive to see if my little pinhole actually worked with fireworks!)
these aren't that awesome in quality, but i'll keep experimenting in nighttime photography with my pinhole camera, and i'll definitely post more of my work soon!

hell(o)

today was not so fun, i'm exhausted, annoyed with high-school drama, and just want to have a perfect day for once! plus i just got my senior thesis ( a required 8-10 page paper on the topic of our choice, graded by a random selection of faculty, even those who are not teachers....gah!) back and was totally train wrecked in the grading process (i know my paper wasn't perfect but SERIOUSLY?!? even my advisor said that i was screwed over!)

on a lighter note, the day was beautifulll, and all i want to think about is the sunset and laying in the grass under the shade of my favorite tree, with my favorite book

these photographs were taken by me with a handmade pinhole camera, google it and give one a try, they are inexpensive to make and i personally like the way the photographs come out, a better alternative to an expensive camera to say the least! the streaks of light through each photograph add to the interest, so i intentionally make my cameras with imperfections (please don't take any of my photos without asking, if anyone is actually reading this, because i'm pretty sure i'm talking to myself as of yet, haha)

clothing uploads tomorrow, i swear! been feeling uninspired lately, but i have packages in the post so that will most definitely cheer me up!
